Well I've been working a little bit lately on a website instead of this blog, and so far things are going well. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to site building and maintenance, but slowly and steadily my plan is to stop writing here at RawGameBlog and move my news + much more over to www.quadgamer.com.

PLEASE do check out the site now as I am building it and give me some feedback on what you like/things that can be improved, and so on. My goal is to please my readers!

Geoff Keighley: Next week's GTTV will be EPIC

If you're following Geoff on twitter, you've probably seen this already. As I've already quoted on my twitter, here's what he twitters:
"geoffkeighley: Working with our team on next week's GTTV. Going to be an epic show with around 6 world exclusives...and a few big surprises!"

This is really interesting! Are these 6 exclusives going to be revealed during the week at GDC 09, or will they debut at GTTV next friday? And then you can start asking yourself: Are they mostly 360 exclusives? That would be great because so far there aren't MANY 360 exclusives announced for this year.

It could also be Wii exclusives, PS3 exclusives, or even PC exclusives... So We'll just have to wait and see.

And what are the "big surprises" ??

GTTV Wolfenstein, Wheelman, Wanted: WOF

Wolfenstein: This looks promising! Gameplay seems to be as tight as COD4/COD: WAW, in addition you get a "vail" mode which has several advantages in addition to awsome powers, and the possibility to upgrade every single weapon until it's kickass. There will be a deeper story than seen before, and cinematics. This is new to the Wolfenstein franchise. Graphics looks as good as Call of Duty: World at War, if not better.

Wheelman: Well.. I watched a friends try the demo.. the game is allright, but not great. Some things in it are weird, the graphcis is not really great... so I'd recommend trying before buying.

Also a cool Wanted: Weapons of Fate trailer near the end.

Why you should get Unreal Tournament 3

While the game is availible on Xbox360, PC and Playstastion 3, I will focus on the PS3 version here, as that is the one I've got and it supports mods. EDIT: oh, and keyboard + mouse!

According to VG Chartz.com, The game has sold 0.61million copies on the PS3 and 0.51 million on the Xbox 360.
Why are these numbers so low? For a very low price you get a game who is worldwide known for it's addicting gameplay and beautiful graphics, it also got the following features:

* Two new game types: Greed, a "tug of war" skull-toting team points battle, and Betrayal, a cutthroat style of play where alliances and teams can shift fluidly through a match.
* The Titan Mutator, where you can become a 30 foot tall behemoth in any game mode.
* Two new characters: Kana and Nova.
* Nineteen maps for Deathmatch, CTF, Vehicle CTF and Warfare modes, including 11 new maps plus eight popular maps from the first UT3 bonus pack and Xbox 360 version.
* New vehicles and pickups, including the X-Ray field deployable, the link station deployable for vehicle repair, the slow field powerup, the Stealthbender vehicle, the Eradicator artillery piece, and the Stinger rail turret.

"For an interesting twist, you can play Greed with the Titan mutator activated. In this scenario, the goals are the same except you can transform into a 15-foot Titan, which is handy for sowing mass destruction on opponents while protecting skull-toting teammates. World in Conflict not coming to console

The Norwegian site PressFire just got confirmation from Massive Entertainment that World in Conflict will not be coming to consoles after all.

This is a huge dissapointment as many console owners were looking forward to this popular game.
To turn a PC strategy game into a console strategy game is really tough, and most developers have to compromise and deliver a game that feels dwarfed compared to the PC version.

"At the time being we have no plans of releasing this game for consoles - but WOC: Sovjet Assault is coming to PC (March)."

"We want the products we make to have high quality, and neither we (Massive Entertainment) or Ubisoft feel that the console versions are good enough" says Johan Oldbring, Associate Project Manager in Massive Entertainment.

Norwegian Gamer.no goes out with a bang - gave KZ2 6/10

This Thursday www.tek.no - a leading Norwegian tech/software/mobile/game site, announced that it's sister-site www.gamer.no were separating from their network after years of teamwork. This was dissapointing news to many, as this was their resource for a lot of tests and news within TECH, mobile, software and gaming.

Apparently, the site chose to go out with a bang.

In a quite negative review they rated Killzone 2 6 out of 10 possible points, with the title "The False Prophet".

I am not sure if this is to be taken seriously or if it's just to stir things up, but check it out yourself. There were of course several hundred comments within hours blaiming the reviewer of being "an Xbot, biased" and so on.

Read it and decide for yourself - does Killzone 2 deserve a 6/10?

Can Gran Turismo 5 outsell Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec?

Expectations for Polyphony's Gran Turismo 5 for the PlayStation 3 are steadily increasing. Sony is still claiming that the series is THE best racing simulator (that will be) on the market. Can Gran Turismo 5 sell more copies than the best-selling Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec did?

Let me give you some quick numbers:

The first Gran Turismo, released on the PlayStation One sold 10.85 million copies.
The next game in the franchise, Gran Turismo 2, did not quite match the debut game and ended up at 9.37 million sold, also on the PlayStation One.

Now we reach the top seller: Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec has sold a whopping 14.87 million copies! The game was released on the PlayStation 2.

After this, Gran Turismo 4 Prologue sold only 1.36 million copies, while the full version of Gran Turismo 4 sold 9.62 million copies

According to VG Chartz.com, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue has sold at least 2.8 million copies (unfortunately updated last on April 2008..).
The question remains if the step into HD with amazing graphics will be enough for Gran Turismo 5 to become the best selling game in the franchise yet. Already people are more or less demanding that Polyphony includes damage and damage-models into the game, as this is one key feature that is missing from making the game the most realistic racing simulator out there. Better/more extensive online options are also on the wishlist of many Gran Turismo fans.

Forza 2 did sell reasonably well on the Xbox 360, to be more exact 4.34 million copies. This game - or rather Forza 3 - brings competition to the Gran Turismo franchise, with it's great customization, endless online options and, yes, damage models.

Another factor is that there needs to be a lot more PlayStation 3 machines out there for Gran Turismo 5 to beat Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec.
Maybe Gran Turismo 5 will be one of those games that really sell a lot of consoles?

I Am Alive - scans

Just released by AllGamesBeta(Wordpress), I wanted you all too see these scans from the upcoming Official Xbox Magazine.
The game will be about surviving after "mother nature" basiclly shakes the city to pieces, and that probably throws a lot of challenges at you in terms of finding food, water, searching for your family, etc.
Maybe we can compare it to the movie "I Am Legend"? Only you are not alone.

The game is set for release this spring on PC/PS3/Xbox360 and Wii(!)

Will Gaza lead to increased sales for Killzone 2 and other shooters?

It is no surprise that some of the success of the shooters over the last few years - besides the fact that they were good games - may be related to the war in Iraq. Although HOPEFULLY people play games for fun, the amount of media attention regarding war increases buzz around war- and shootergames. I believe Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare may have benefited from this, as well as Gears of War, Resistance, Crysis, and other popular shooters. "The War Against Terror" has never been more "popular".

The Iraq war is finally coming to and end(?), but you are probably aware of the intense war going on in Israel/Gaza Strip. So will this conflict and the amount of focus on the war have any effect on game sales? Let's say Joey has 60 USD to buy a new game. There are a lot of good shooters, good racing games, good music games, good adventure games. I cannot be 100% sure, but I believe that there is a bigger chance of him choosing a shooter over other games when there is a war going on. Sad but true?

For now all we can do is hope for a truce and that the conflict does not escalate further.

Expanding through the holidays

Hello everybody!

Just thought I would let you all know that thoughout the Christmas holiday (and beyond!) I will be working on expanding rawgameblog.blogspot.com.
As you can see it has already been given a facelift in time for 2009 - and this goes hand in hand with my newly created channel on YouTube, which will be primarily game content focused.

This is a Response to Sony Needs to Advertise Killzone 2
I have to agree with you that Sony has been less aggressive than Microsoft when it comes to advertising games - so far.

However, it is a bit early to complain about the fact that Sony needs to advertise Killzone 2 more. The release date is set to February 27th(?) 2009, which is almost 3 months from now.
Did Microsoft advertise Halo 3 several months before release? Or did they, as you say, advertise the hell out of it the days before and around the games release?

All I'm saying is that I'm sure (well, I HOPE...) that Sony is learning that in this generation more advertising is needed - especially when it comes to platform exclusives. Who knows, maybe you'll be able to buy yourself a new pair of boxershorts with a Helghast soldier on it in february? ;-)

First off, Pioneer has showcased a 400GB Bluray disc - which is readable on todays Blu-ray players! I'm assuming that includes the Playstation 3. This means even better picture and sound quality when it comes to movies, and even bigger games with more content and a lot of HD-video in the game for the PS3.

Secondly, Funcom reports that Age of Conan is still coming to the Xbox 360! Their plans for this and other games shall not be affected by recent reduced staffs.

Thirdly, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has surfaced through a trailer, watch it below! Check in at Spike TV's VGA 2008 December 14th for more details about this game, as well as maybe a God of War 3 trailer..??

While the guy playing the game got frustrated several times the first time he played through the game - saying he did not feel like giving the game a 6/6, still thinks that after playing through the game a second time, it is one of the best game experiences he has ever had.

The game is graphiclly stunning, you have the choice between disarming/avoiding/shooting enemies, and the tension is great.
(BTW if you complete the game without shooting...perhaps not on your first playthrough... you will get an achievement with alot of points).

Student breaks down PS3 vs 360 graphics facts

Now I don't expect anyone to know me here, but im currently studying hardware development, computer science and computer architecture and I thought seriously about it and realised, there is no way you can tell which console has better graphics. Want to know why?

The answer is simple.

Its not the system that determines how graphical a game can be, the system only displays and image, however resolution, polygons and file types which determines how good graphics really are, depending which engine your running. But all that information is stored on the disk.

What the console really determines is which file types and resolutions can be read, understood and displayed on your soft copy. (FYI A soft copy is what you see on a screen because its visual but you can't touch it.)

Which leads to the conclusion that its not the computer system that determines the graphics, its the developers. I mean a PS2 game could have PS3 gameplay but for no more than and hour or so, should it have a small upgrade to its RAM and GC, by small I mean 128MB. Not much really.

After all apart from system and application software, games consoles are basically computers.

So lets see which console is graphically more powerful. This is the amount of visual memory, clock speed and the graphics card the 360 Elite and PS3 80GBM use.

360 Elite:
Visual Memory: 500 Megahertz GPU. (... Not Brilliant, but not bad. But this is a speed and not a number so the 360 amplifies its graphics through a single processor.)
Clock Speed: 3.2 Gigahertz TriCore. (Hmm, not bad, shame Microsoft didn't make it.)
Graphics Card: ATI Xenos. (Good Make, not Microsoft made though.)

PS3 80GB Model.
Visual Memory: 550 Megahertz. (Better than 360.)
Clock Speed: 3.2 Gigahertz. (Same proc speed then.)
Graphics Card: SCEI RSX (Reliable Sony made hardware, those japs are tech wizards. ^^)

As you can see, the PS3 is capable of better graphics than the 360, but not much. However there is a catch... The Sony PS3 also has a PPE and 7 SPE's. This makes things tricky, allow me to explain for those who do now have much computer knowledge.

PPE - Power Processor Element. This chip basically power architecture based, which I haven't learnt a lot about yet, but I know what it does. The chip connects the central processing unit to the SPE's like a bus.

SPE - Synergistic Processing Unit. These tiny things are like boosters for the actual processer itself. These allow the system to handle more complicated instructions at once and can perform graphical operations, reducing ingame lag by upto 40% of the 360 but it also works as an artificial graphically interlectual system, meaning it fixes things by itself using coding from other sprites and props.

So there you have it, the PS3 is capable of better graphics than the 360 and to top it off Blu-Ray disks can hold an extra 20GB over HD DVD's that the 360 uses.

You can make other points or say otherwise but I have plenty of books and a perfectly good scanner that will prove you wrong.

If you want to argue the 360 is better, consider the fact it has a year and a half over Sony because of broken contracts between Sony and Microsoft. Also the 360 is well loved everywhere but its not as reliable as the PS3 and you have to pay for online play, which on the PS3, you dont.

And before you say, Microsoft does not provide servers, the fee you pay is for Microsoft to connect your PS3 to company servers so your fee sends information packets from your 360 to the local Microsoft server to be sent to insomnic or what ever gaming company made the game your playing.

The 360 will have many more things because a year is a full gap of time that allows a lot of growth, but recent numbers show sales rising in the PS3 making the 360 the least sold console this year and is almost in third place."

Internet problems, moving + some news.

I'm sorry that it's been quiet for some time here on RawGameBlog, much of it is because I recently moved into a new apartment, so that took a bit of time and energy.
In addition to this, I initially has troubles getting online here the first week.
Now I am online, but the line is both slow and the set up is kind of unstable, and completely unacceptable.

I will be working to get a faster and more reliable line, although this may unfortunately prove to take some time.

NEWS: Fable 2 is getting a lot of great reviews - looking forward to getting my pre-ordered copy. The scores are anywhere from 8.2/10 to 10/10 - the main issues being that the game isn't "polished" enough, some bad textures and laggy animations. But a patch might fix some of this?

A lot of good games are coming out this fall - which ones will you buy?

Also Resistance 2 is said to have completely customizable controls (rumor?), and I have to say that is nice (Who wouldn't like to set up the controls to match the game they've played most - ie COD4).

In this weeks episode of the increasingly popular sitcom starring to geeks; "The Big Bang Theory", They are playing Age of Conan.

Halo 3: Recon unveiled at TGS08

So finally it has been announced: There will be a new Halo game, scheduled for release next fall. The name is Halo 3: Recon, and we will play as a new hero (not Master Chief) and explore what happened before "Halo 3".

The game promises a lot of singleplayer action, as well as great multiplayer support. It is said to be a standalone game - NOT an expansion of Halo 3.

Age Of Conan for Xbox 360 delayed

Strategyinformer.com is reporting that Funcom will not release Age Of Conan on the Xbox 360 for another year/this year.

“Development on the Xbox 360 version is not our key priority as there are a massive amount of PC gamers already playing the game, and we rightly have the focus on them. While there is a dedicated specialist project team working on Xbox, the PC version will remain our top priority for now.”

GT5 update w/cars, 360 and Wii pricecut

Word has just reashed ut that there is an update availible for Gran Turismo 5 PRolouge - and it includes new cars! Read more about it HERE.

Also, it is confirmed(?) that Microsoft and Nintendo will cut the price on the 360 and Wii in the UK.

Xbox 360 Arcade will now start at £99.97(previously £129.97), and the 60GB model for just £139.97 (previously £169.97).

The Nintendo Wii will be reduced from £179.97 to £149.97.

NOTE: This is for a period only; from Friday October 3rd until October 12th.
So if you are thinking about buying a console either for yourself or as a Christmas present, GO SHOP.

Yesterday the new Game Director for Age of Conan; Craig 'Silirrion' Morrison, wrote a letter in Funcom's forums and shared a lot of information about a lot of new features just around the corner. Most important is the second stage of PvP, as well as "Ymir's Pass" which is a rather big zone with a lot of content.

IGN just published some gameplay videos of the upcoming Need For Speed: Undercover (playing on a Xbox 360).
It looks like an upgraded version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which is fine by me because I liked Most Wanted :)
The question remains though; Will we be able to be the cop and chase other racers this time around? A killer online mode with you being able to take down other racers would be awsome. It would also be cool if they made a team mode: i.e. 4cops vs 4racers. We will have to wait and see.

WipEout HD release date September 25th

In the US that is. Videogamer.com is still waiting on confirmation that the game will also be released in Europe at the same date.

WipEout HD will feature 60FPS at 1080p action racing, with 5.1 digital surround sound. It will be availible as a downloadable game, has 5 game modes, and has multiplayer for up to 8 people online, or 2 people split-screen.

And yes, it supports Trophies!

If you can't wait to get your hands on it and live in Europe (if the game should be released later here..), search the web for a guide on how to create a US account.
This gives you access to a lot more content, and may even save you some money.

Motorstorm: Pacifc Rift demo UPDATED

... is availible from September 12th - if you have downloaded Qore, september episode.

You will be able to play single player and spilt-screen multiplayer, no online play though.
The track in the demo is named Rain God Spires, the sequel to Rain God Mesa of the original Motorstorm. The track is "an Air Zone track that takes you along a bumpy coastal mountain circuit with plenty of ups and downs to highlight the game's massive draw distance".

UPDATE: My toughts after trying the demo is that it's rather more of an expansion of Motorstorm than a sequel.
If you look at other sequels they improve gameplay, graphics, add more content and perhaps new game modes (and of course work on the story if it's a story based game).

Altough this is just a demo you can tell that there isn't much new besides a few new vehicles and the new tracks. The track in the demo looks good, but compared to Motorstorm, the landscape in the distance is really the most noticable thing that is improved in Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.

So, all in all, it's good. But not the WOW we were hoping for. So Motorstorm: Pacific Rift just fell a few places down on my "to get" list.

UPDATE: Afrika does not seem to be availible for download from the japanese PS Store - all I found were some trailers. In addition to this I was not able to import. Oh, well.

Yes, after the long hype the game will finally be released. I am unsure if it will be availible for Download throuh the PS Store, but I am guessing it will be. I will download it and try it, and give you my short review afterwards. The price is said to me about 56USD or around 30 Euros.

PS3 firmware 2.5 details + rumours of a 512 XDR RAM PS3

Computerandvideogames.com have published the first details on the PS3 firmware 2.5. Apparently there will be some sort of screencapture function (maybe even video? we wish!-H), but for now very little is known about how you use this, what you can do with your screens, etc.
There has been no confirmed date for the 2.5 update.

Furthermore,n4g.comreports that Qimonda, the second larget DRAM company worldwide, has announced that they are mass producing XDR RAM for the Playstation 3. In an article at EDN.com suggestions are made that Qimonda are in fact manufactoring 512MB XDR RAM modules which they showed earlier this year. This of course leads to speculation: Could SONY be planning to release an updated version of the PS3 with 512MB XDR RAM?

The true power is said to lie in the Cell Processor, because it's 8 cores can handle a lot of physics due to it's math intensity, but struggles with memory intensive coding, which challenges developers to completely rework their game structure.

He revelaed this during his press conference at Leipzig, but said it is only his estimation - he does not know this (who does, really..)

With the big leap graphics has taken this generation, and the fast development worldwide, he thinks we can expect to see the next generation of consoles in 2011/2012, or maybe even as early as 2010.

Codemasters has now unveiled "FUEL", their new and quite ambitious racinggame - which they will show more of at Leipzig later this week.

You will be able to race online with a total of 16 players, in a HUGE open world (5,000 square-miles with no boundaries)!

The game is set at the US East coast, across the "tsunami-wrecked pacific coast through the Nevada wastelands, including the Grand Canyon, up treacherous snow-capped mountains, thick forests, arid deserts, abandoned lakeside resorts and much more".

You will expreience a dynamic weather system as well as day/night cycle, and you will encounter tornados, sandstorms, thunderstorms, lightning strikes and blizzards.

We can't wait to see this game.

Blu-ray sales up 300% in 2008

So, after the HD format war ended, and Blu-ray was victorious, it stil did not sell extremely well. But now things are changing. The fact that millions of PS3's are sold worldwide, and that you can buy a good deal of Blu-ray movies at a not so expencive price anylonger, both contribute to the positive sale figures.

The sales are at averange 1.14 million Blu-ray movies each month, and in 2008 it is expected to reach 8 million movies sold this year. In comparison there were 6 million Blu-ray movies sold in 2006 and 2007 combined.

So things are looking better for Blu-ray, but DVD is still WAY ahead, and other digital distribution methods are also very popular.

SONY: Will you make a 3D LIVE theme to the PS3?

I hereby challenge SONY to make the music visualizer as shown above into the theme/background on the PS3. And it should be Live! As in rotating, changing camera angles, etc.

And how about this? Not even can you select the planet Earth, but all the other planets in our solar system, as well as a toned down version of our Sun. When I say toned down I mean that it should not be very bright - make it look more like the Sun in the movie "Sunshine", so that you can see details on the sun and animation of the surface.

EDIT: Just to make sure nobody misunderstands.. The INTERFACE will remaind unchanged - my idea is to have a 3D planet as a "live 3D background" - but I call it a theme because one might want to include sound and/or icon styles to match each planet..

This would give Xbox 360's new layout a run for its money..

Wii sales still on top - Xbox 360 is struggling

The big companies have now released their salesfigures for the april to june period this year.

Nintendo reports that they have shipped 5.2 million Wii consoles, as well as 6.9 million Nintendo DS units.

On second place we find Sony, and they report that they have shipped 1.6 million Playstation 3's and 3.7 million PSP's shipped in this period (april-june). Playstation 2 is still selling really well; an impressive 1.5 million units were shipped.

And last, but not least, Microsoft anounced that they have shipped 1.3 million Xbox 360 units from april to june - which is even lower than the Playstation 2.

Is this why Microsoft has cut their price so much? Pricecut is great for us consumers... but why are 360 sales dropping so much?
A great fall line-up and Avatars might be able to turn this around - we'll have to wait and see.

While we are still waiting to get our hands on the long awaited Fable 2, Peter Molyneux revealed at E3 that Fable 3 and Fable 4 are games that Lionhead already have plans for.

"We've got plans for Fables 3, 4 and 5 actually," Molyneux shared to GameTrailers during E3.

So when will we see Fable 3? Next generation? We'll have to wait and see.

Can Sony sell more than 140million Playstation 3 units?

At least that is their plan.

The original Playstation sold about 104million units world wide.
The Playstation 2 beat the sales of PSone, and recently tipped 140million unit sold world wide (wow!).

People are sceptic that Sony will be able to outsell the PS2. PS2 was the leading console of it's generation, and neither Xbox nor the GameCube could rival it.
So far PS3 sales are lower worldwide than Xbox360, and the Nintendo Wii has a solid lead.

But, Sony says that they plan for the PS3 to be around for 9 more years, and they expect a lot of PS2 users to go over to PS3 eventually.
Their plan is to reach 150 million sold units.

You can download movies and TV-shows in SD or HD - buy them or rent them. And you can transfer them to your PSP and watch them on the bus. You can also access the Playstation Video store via your PC.

Update:
Microsoft will be adding a 16X10 aspect ratio over both VGA and HDMI, and will implement 1440x900 and 1680x1050 display resolutions to the Xbox 360.
Exactely when is not revealed, and why they bother is another question.

Many games today run at even lower than 720p (1280x720 pixels) in order to substain a decent framerate. Although the 360 supports 1080p, very few games do.

So why add these resolutions? Can people really tell the difference between 16:10 and 16:9 on their TV?

Lips wants to crush Singstar

Microsoft has now revealed their game "Lips" for the Xbox 360, which will be Microsofts challenger to Sony's popular Singstar games.
Other than being for Xbox 360, a feature that will be included in LIPS is that you can plug in your mp3-player and sing along to any song. However, Microsoft has not yet said much about what makes that possible.

The game will also feasture wireless(!) microphones, with a sort of motion sensor that makes the mic blink when you move...

The game is being developed by Inis, and is said to be availible for Christmas.

After several rumours flying around on the net Microsoft has finally announced that Xbox LIVE! will get a total makeover this fall.

The most important things to note is Avatars, where you can customize yourself, as well as the possibility to copy your games over to the HDD for faster loading times. Now all that remains is a affordable 120GB HDD... Today it is way too expencive.

You can also visit the Xbox Marketplae at xbox.com and buy things online there -and have them directly downloaded to your 360.

In addition to this you can create a "Xbox Live Party", where up to 8 people can talk together, share pictures or watch videos. in the US multiple people also get access to "Primetime", a channel where you can participate in different games/gameshows with your avatar. This will not be availible in Europe yet.

So, alot of good news here for Xbox 360 owners! Now we'll just have to wait and see what Sony and Nintendo pulls out of their magic hats.

Microsoft slashes price on 20GB Xbox, replaces it with 60GB

Microsoft has just revealed that they will cut the price on their 20GB version of the Xbox 360 to 299 USD - and eventually these will be replaced by a 60GB version.

So now you can choose between Xbox 360 Arcade (256MB memory), Xbox 360 Pro (60GB HDD) og Xbox 360 Elite (120GB HDD).

No Far Cry 2 demo will be released

Fallout 3 banned in Austraila?

DirectX 11 presentation / Operation Flashpoint 2 pushed back

Microsoft has confirmed that they will be presenting details about upcoming Direct X 11 on Gamefest 2008 - 22nd and 23nd of July in Seattle, US.
The big new features in the next version of DX is Tessellation/Displacement, and also Multithreaded Rendering and Compute Shaders.

It seems tha Raytracing will NOT be a feature in DX 11.

What is stirring at Bungie?

Several websites are reporting that people at Bungie, the developers of the popular HALO games, are hinting that they might be announcing something at the 12th of July - at E3.
What?

Most people say that it is probably a new game or project.

Here are my thoughts.
1: It is doubtful, but it would be a big surprise if it was some kind of expansion or add-on to Halo 3, whether it's more game modes and maps for online play, or even some single-player action.
2: Maybe even more unrealistic, but it would DEFINITELY make a lot of buzz if HALO 4 was announced..

...and this time Sony promises it will be stable.

When Sony released firmware 2.40 a lot PS3's froze or was unstable. With this update these problems should be gone, Sony says.

Bluray now with 400GB

Bluray keeps improving, and has now reached 16 layers and a whopping 400 GB. You can read more here:

The question that pops into mind is; will you be able to put a 400GB Bluray into your Playstation 3 (or other BD player)? Or does this require new players?

I would definately like a movie with even higher bitrate than todays bitrate, and games like MGS4 would not have to be compromized..

Whispers about Fable 2 demo

Personally I would really love a Fable 2 demo - but will there ever be one?

While some claim that there's no need for a demo, others are whispering about a demo not to far away. Sure, people at E3 will probably get their hands on Fable 2 and get the chance to try it out, but an Xbox Live demo is more uncertain.

The whispers about a demo are talking about October. There was recently a lot of speculation regarding the Video Diary of Lionhead Studios: Episode 6 - where Peter Molyneux was seen drawing around the word "October". Immideately everybody figured "it must mean Fable 2 will be out this October!".

Sadly, however, it will not.

BUT, the demo will!

Too Human demo coming to Xbox Live within 30 days

We are hearing rumours that a demo for the highly anticipated game Too Human will be availible on Xbox Live within 30 days.

With the game's releasedate now just over a month away, it might not come as a surprise that a demo is just around the corner - however, nobody has confirmed a date for the demo.

There is even speculation that there will be Co-op in the demo, but take that info with a grain of salt...

Age of Conan sales are doing well

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, the MMO created by Funcom is selling like hot bread!

Funcom recently announced that Age of Conan is the #2 MMO worldwide - only beaten to the finishline (or, crushed, if you will), by World of Warcraft.

Right now there is about 700 000 gamers playing Age of Conan, versus 10 million playing WOW, so the gap is huge.

However, soon the first three free online months will be over for the gamers in Hyboria. Will they all pay a montly fee to continue slashing people? Funcom are hopeful that many will, and states that they will work hard on releasing updates as well as constantly new material for the game.
